Hi all, I would like to be able to take guests out on my nacra 5.2 sometimes. Because I'm in the Netherlands and sail off the beach any guests would need a wetsuit or perhaps a dry suit for safety's sake. Problem is most of the potential guests don't have their own wetsuits. Worse, they are not all the same size or even gender.
What would you do in this case? Is getting one Xtra Large size steamer an okay solution for casual sailing? Would a dry suit do better (just fold up the excess smile?

What's your idea?
Dennis

You know what they say about wetsuits? There are two kind of wetsuit users, those who pee in their suits and those who lie grin

Go with the drysuit if you want to have "guest crew" gear. If the guest is comfortable, (s)he might even take up sailing.

That's too funny. laugh
I concure with Rolf. It's easier to fit a wide range of guests with a dry suit. And your guest will find it more comfortable than squeezing into a wetsuit.

Dennis the dry suit sounds like a good idea, I would mentally "measure" your potential crew and get a suit that would fit all of them.

I ended up buying a couple extra wetsuits for my crew rotation, 2 trap harnesses, 2 lifejackets, 2 sets of gloves.

The new surf wetsuits from Rip Curl are very comfortable, nice and stretchy and affordable, they were having a buy one get one free from the factory. I think the first one was $159

The key to a non smelly wetsuit is to rinse it out in fresh water after each use. My wife grabs my gear once a while and throw it in the washing machine when I'm not looking. Cold water, delicate.

And yes, I pee in my wet suit.

Okay, I think I'll go for a cheap dry suit without socks. The guests will have to take care of their own boots or shoes.
Thanks for all the advice!
