Boat is not in full compliance with the rules but its performance prediction using Texel and ISAF as well as my own wetted surface calculations show that It won't outperform Taipan 4.9 gen and the Stealth.

I will give a full presentation after the weekend.

Meantime take a look at :

http://www.catamaran.ie/cats/spitfire.htm

Wouter

Wouter-
You are right- doesn't quite fit the rule in that it's too wide and has too much sail. But then it's CURRENTLY "too" heavy as well. The web site mentioned a "new" solo model of the Spitfire coming out, but didn't give any specs.
Sail area is relatively easy to reduce, but (I feel) we are already pushing beam at 2.5m, to go to 2.52m --? If we DO GF it in then it needs to stay "heavy" at it's present weight IMO.
Otherwise I'm OK with it- The more the merrier at this point.

Kirt

Kirt Simmons
Taipan #159, "A" cat US 48
