I worked about 5 hours tonight fairing out some of the station frames. I have 8 of 19 completed. I also updated the website with some new pics and text. For your viewing pleasure if you want to follow along

Man,
if I was closer I would be there every night I could sneak out stating up too late and telling lies while building...

Slapped together a lot of fun boats out of broken junk over the years but never had the chance to build from the backbone up. would love to get my hands dirty on that tri.

I would have to bring over something other than Bud, tho. wink

Great work!

Jim.

Looking good. I'm really quite interested in watching this project. Thanks for posting. So in the picture I recognize the bud and the DA Sander. What is the other air tool?

He might mean the air beltsander. Very nice to get the mud down to a fairly level surface quickly.

What is the advantage of the air beltsander over the DA? I love my DA. That thing makes quick work of anything needing sanding. Sometimes too quick a work. But that goes in the other thread of "Don't ask me how I know".

It is a mini-longboard. Less chance of digging a divot from my experience compared to the DA.

The air beltsander is great for inside curves. The DA is great for almost flat, flat, and outside curves. I need to a good 1/2 round med. bite file to add to my tool box. I have box of sandpaper from 80 - 600 so I can bite as much or little as I need. Here I'm working with 80- 100.

I just popped out to lunch to Glue Products and picked up 2/2 gals of epoxy 50/50 mix to coat the pressed wood. The rain has started in the tropics and I do not want the pressed wood to swell.

I've got the watch the air beltsander it cuts like mad got to keep it moving even.

Craig - Cyberspeed built the Website in exchange for the work on his boat it makes the documentation easy. Thanks for the support it is a life long desire and a hell of a lot of fun. I wish ya' all could come and help. I've got a lot of land could be one hell of a camp out.
