Hey,

Well Michael and I got all set up to sail at Humpybong on Sunday.

The wind blew and after the Hobie 16 and Maricat came back from a 'test' sail the decision was it was over the top for sailing and racing.

Disappointing really but was happy to live to sail another day rather than break something.

Gusts were at 25 plus and a messy chop/bay swell running.

It was good to have the 2 boats side by side.

Even forgot to grab some pics.

Will have to wait until next weekend to perhaps have the 2 boats sail together.

Will update next week.

That's a shame - no sailing or photos! At least the two Mozzies were seen together smile

How far do you two have to travel to meet up like that?

Humpybong Club (terrible name but it is a geographical location) is on north side of Moreton Bay and I live southside so approx. 1 hr travel for me.

Michael lives @ Bribie Island north of Brisbane - he would have travelled about 1 hr as well.

Had originally planned to travel up to Sunshine Coast near Noosa to sail @ Lake Cootharaba which would have been 1.5 to 2 hours for me.

It would seem we are both happy to hike a few kms to meet up so it will happen regularly.

We will both also sail @ Cootharaba at Easter in a 3 day regatta.

Will make sure have the camera and get some pics.

Top effort there with the pic.

Note the bows of the latest generation 'A' in the foreground?

Yeah, pic of the 14sq would have been good, pure luck he did not go in, and then he also put the leeward centreboard down as well. Any of us and we would have been swimming !!

Yeah i was initially intending on taking it out on the boat with me during the race and taking some film (i have a waterproof camera case/bag) as the quality isnt too bad (3mb pixel camera on the phone), but i changed my mind fairly early on as i assumed if we raced, id have my hands to full trying to stay upright to have enough time to take some camera footage wink But ill definitely try and get some footage out on the water at samsonvale, as even when its windy, its flat and typically not gusty.
