Masts seem to be creeping aft, same with the latest Flyer.

Matt Strubel on the LR3 beat Randy at Spring Fever (5 firsts in 8 races), but Randy was out for 2 races with damage and won 2 of the last 3 races, so not sure who was going fastest.

The Boat is beautiful, but I think the jury's out on is it fast. Matt is so good, its really hard to tell anything about any boat he is on.

The men were amazed, and said, "What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?" Matthew 8:27

Is it just me or does the platform look to be twisting a lot in these photos? Could be just a camera angle thing.

Someone else said that to me, but I think it is camera angle.

The LR3 looked great. The platform seemed solid and performed well in a wide range of conditions. Matt's straight line boat speed was great, especially upwind.

Randy was also very qucik and seemed to have an edge downwind over the entire fleet.

Hartwell is a very tough place to measure performance. Presure lines and playing the shifts was the name of the game. However when the boats got together we were able to make some observations about boat speed.

Overall the LR3 seems like a promising concept and should certainly be competitive with other designs in the fleet.

Thanks to Nigel for a great time as always and for lending me his Boyer for the weekend!

-Chris
