I know that there have been debates on Catsailor Forums about talking politics , or about the war. But I want to thank Mary for the link a while back, to sign a note of support to our troops. I was an ardent anti war activist against the war in Vietnam, but never felt disrespect for those that served. While I am inclined to support this war, I never want to hear of those that serve our country being treated the way so many were when they returned from Vietnam! I have someone who will likely be sent over soon, and I am very proud of him for signing up. Anyway thanks for that link Mary! I for one would welcome more! Sorry if I offended anyone with my off topic subject.

Here are two websites. Heaven forbid that I should recommend anything, but you can check them out for yourself and decide whether they are legitimate or a cover for some sinister political organization with a hidden agenda.
They look great to me, but I have been accused of being naive and gullible (probably true, but I grew up in the '50's, and I'm trying to stay there). As before, I fail to see anything political about supporting troops who are in harm's way.

During the Vietnam War I was working for a newspaper in Berea, Ohio, and I remember when we were helping to promote getting everybody to bake and send cookies to the soldiers. Just in case anybody is interested, the recommendation was to use butter instead of margarine, because the cookies would be softer and not crumble into pieces before they got to their destination.
