Posts: 290 Pensacola, Florida / Katy, Tex... | This year's White or Wheat Regatta is part of the Trident Series. The White or Wheat Regatta will be an Half Around the Island Race. The start will be in the Gulf at Navarre Beach, from the park there, and the finish will be at Navarre Beach inside at the bridge near Juana's. Approximately 50 miles. This should be a great race. Everyone should finish before dark, and before the wind dies. Other boats expected such as the F-trimarans and lower Portsmouth rated boats will most likely have a separate inside course on the sound side due to launching logistics and time. They all should be finishing with the other boats. We are also looking at triangle races the next day with separate scoring. The NOR was posted a while back. More notices should be out soon.

Posts: 3,293 Long Beach, California | the course is intended to be from the Gulf-side of Navarre beach, in through Pensacola Pass, and to Juana's Pagodas on the inside. A sort of Half 'Round the Island - about 50 miles. It will be a Worrell-style beach start. I am not on the race committee or anything, so the details may be a little different when you get here - I'll do my best to keep posting info about all three of the distances races that make up the Emerald Coast Trident as it becomes available. There will be an official NOR in the next week or so. Hope that helps - feel free to drop me a note if you have other questions. Hope to see you there. ps - for those who don't want to tackle the Half 'Round, there will be triangle courses on the inside both Saturday and Sunday - this will be the usual Subway Sandwiches-sponsored White or Wheat Regatta. I'm glad, too - 50 miles on a 4.3 takes a loooong time!

Posts: 3,293 Long Beach, California | We should be able to track them right down onto the public beach - this makes the logistics a lot easier, too. Race 50 miles but your trailer is only a few blocks from the finish line! Cool! Gotta agree about needing a Juana Whacker at the end of that one. I hope there are people finishing the distance portion at the same time we're wrapping up triangles on the inside - that would be too cool and make for a better party.
