Starting in San Francisco bay at Richmond. Turn the corner throw up the chute and ride it out the next 64 miles. Sound like fun join the Ditch Run. Dan Delave, Greg Thomas , Charles Froeb, Myself all on F-18's usually a 20 or 3 with a kite and a tornado. So far 5 F-18's and its early.
June 6 th Richmond to Stocton lots of gybes as we pick our way arround the leaners that get a head start.Get a kite get a cat and lets take over the Ditch Run.

What ever happened to the Inland Transpac? Pretty much the same thing, but ended up at Rio Vista and was beachcats only.

I think the "Inland TransPac" was a MHRA thing. This is run by the yacht clubs. MHRA I think had to give up the trans pac due to lack of support boats. Got a kite for that Big ol Nacra Rhino? come do the ditch.

Sorry John didn't want to forget you and MR Keys, or the Glasers. Hopefully my custom SNU will be here well before that.
How many do we need to make this a F-18 points race?

Three. And the NOR says we get a class if we have eight preregistered by May 31st.

I always thought the Inland Transpac was a Hobie Div III thing.

We have a regatta at Scott's Flat (near Nevada City) that weekend. I've always wanted to do the Ditch Run, though.

I did the Richmond Yacht Club Big Dinghy persuit race a couple of weeks back with the kite. The first leg of that race is the first leg of the Ditch Run.

It's a points race if someone turns in the points and we actually have a class. Since John W will be there, chief scorer, I am sure it will be counted.

Later,
Dan

F18s have MADE CLASS for the 2009 Delta Ditch Run! We have eight pre-registered boats - 5 Tigers, 2 Caps and an Infusion. If you were on the fence waiting to see if anyone was going to do the race, wait no longer - you have until the 31st to save some dough. We have another planning party in the works in Long Beach. We'll also be getting an e-mail list together to finalize logistics. Drop me a PM if you're going and don't have my e-mail address.

USA 2477 is on the trailer and ready to go, we have the transport, housing and rigging logistics worked out but I have a engagement that I need to be at Friday night. Working on sorting that out. Will know by the 31st if we are coming down.

Does anyone have storage suggestions for the week between the race and the 12th? We will need to fly down to get the boat the weekend of the 12th since we need to be back to Seattle on the afternoon of Sunday the 7th.

We are making this a high priority since we have yet to have a race on the wires this year...

There's another F18 from SF going and a couple of H20s mulling it over. I've been approached to bring the skiff to make sure everyone's OK, but don't know if I'll do it yet. Would that be something you guys might be interested in?

TeamBlur, You're welcome to put your boat in my yard in Santa Cruz, but it would be logistically difficult to get it the 1.5 hours south. It's a free option though.

J

10 x F-18's (HobieTiger, Capricorn, Nacra, ...)
qualifies for a separate start, minimally F-18,
maybe Adrenaline (not a beachcat, pic).

I've posted my own video link for those of you that will be running in the DDR. wink

This is just before the finish, and may be the point where your GPS will no longer keep you on course.

Good luck to all; and we'll see you next year!

Oh Crap!!! How am I ever going to make it past Lost Isle? I can only count on Eileen to keep me on track.

At this moment there are 9 registered. Last I talked to Ian Sammis he is going. We only need eight to have our own fleet. I think they have worked out the BAMA rating so we will also be matched up with all the other boats. There are potentially 14 Formula 18s attending. I know that Scott Miller will not be there. Charly Devenneaux it trying to get a family pass to attend. Rich Vilvens says he is planning on coming but not on the list. I thought that Paul Anderpont wanted to come, where are you Paul?

We are all really excited to see how this race works out.

Later,
Dan

We are unable to make it since I can not get a late flight out of Seattle - Andy is looking to crew on a F18 since he will already be in the Bay area.

If you are looking for his credentials - see his profile on our site - you can contact him at f18teamblur at live.com...
