Posts: 88 Rye, Melb, Vic, Australia | To anyone that is thinking about the Sugarloaf winter series, the club will unfortunately be closed for at least May due to the low water level. It is now down to 14% which does not give enough space to hold races. Refer to the website for further detail Sugarloaf sailing club The weekly video shows how narrow parts of sugarloaf have now become (see if you can spot lemon peel) Short Video

Posts: 556 Somers, Westernport Bay, Victo... | Hi Peter, They must be doing maintenance work on the retaining wall to have it that low. I went up to Sylvan Reservoir a couple of weeks ago and that was at 93 %. Hope they pump water back into Sugarloaf soon. Regards, Peter p.s. Nice footage of you crossing the finishing line on trapeze.

Posts: 88 Rye, Melb, Vic, Australia | Good news. We have now got enough water and Sugarloaf ran the last two (only two) races of our winter series on Sunday. The wind was 15-30 knots and I was happy to finished mid fleet in the results (I was quicker than the upside down taipans ). The next race is the start of our summer series and will be on Saturday 05/09/09 and racing will continue each Saturday after that. Refer to the website Sugarloaf Sailing Club for details.
