I have an 89 N6.0 and am wondering if anyone has insight about putting a squaretop and spin on it.
I am thinking of adding double diamonds and larger spreader at the same dimentions from the base of the mast as the NA. I have been told by Performance that the mast stock is lighter than the NA and they can't promise that it wont rip the top off.

Look into Nacra Express mod. Should find it in a search.

Run a Tornado spinn on it. Latest developement and the right size for the boat (same sq footage as the N20).

Yes, it looks to be an express. It came with a spin, and I also have an F-18 spin I was using on my 5.7. I will probably use them up for now. It has a tang on the front of the mast for the spin, but it seems to me that it may be better to hang it off the top of the mast to a line bale, this is the configuration I had on the 5.7 and it worked great. I got the configuration from this forum.

Reguarding the self tacker, I found a pretty current manual onlune, and will set it up per that manual.
It dosent look like there is any way to controll how far the jib goes out to the lee side of the track. Plus, my track is straight not curved. As close as I can tell, the harder I sheet in, The closer to center the jib will come. Is that the only way to controll this, and is that desireable? or do I need to add more controlls to adjust the angle of the jib further? Also it seems like barber haulers are a must.

If you're running a spin downhill, the barber haulers are not used at all.

This original jib sheeting to the front beam are great when running spins, but it is NOT really a self tacker.

I have an 89 Nacra 6.0 that was morphed into what ios now called the Express. One of the Original Express Models (Jim Moody's old boat, with Randy Smyth as horsepower director).

I currently have a Square top, boomles (and no clew traveller) main, with the Express Genoa. Squaretop wrks great, lot of freakin horsepower, the Genoa is great for jib reaching however it is so big that it is led way outboard in comparison to your earlier version of a self tacker. With the Genoa you just cannot go upwind, not only is the sheeting angle to wide and outboard, but in breeze the jetway that is created blows back into the main and inverts it, making th emian somewhat usless upwind, so we just furl the genoa up in breeze over 10-12 knots. I have the Express 450sq ft chute, but also have a tiny I20 chute for funsies and a Smyth (regular?) chute that the leech falls in column with the mast. The Expreess chute will not really reach, just goes deep.

Recommend keeping your jib the way it is, you can make a traveler control, going with a square top, and going with waht I call a regular chute, for racing your DPN should be pretty good.
