Another day in paradise in Fort Walton for the 42 competitors at the A-Class North American Championship. Four races were sailed again so a total of nine are now done. The conditions for the first two races were a bit lighter than yesterday (around 8-10 knots) but built up to 10-12 knots for the final two allowing competitors to fly hulls downwind. The first race brought a new race winner Pease Glaser who showed fantastic downwind speed. The next three races were again won by Lars Guck but he was pushed in all three by Matt Struble, Pete Melvin, Andrew Gaynor, and Bob Hodges who were consistently battling for the next five places. Pease had a shroud shackle fail in the third race and had to retire for the day after placing 6th in the 2nd race of the day. No damage to her boat and she had everything together at the end of the day ready for tomorrow's final racing. The top five are:

Pete Melvin - 24 points
Matt Struble - 25 points
Andrew Gaynor - 39 points
Bob Hodges - 44 points
Lars has the event won and the rest of the top five sailors are guaranteed their current places with the throwout math but there is still some racing to determine the final podium. Stay tuned.
