HELP I need to borrow a Stealth mainsail for RUTLAND TT on Saturday. I had the window panel on my main replaced a few weeks ago. I was sailing tonight and as i came in after the race noticed that one of the seams had parted leaving the sail unusable. Any ideas on how to do a temporary repair welcomed.

John,

If you can get the to me in Hitchin, and get the sail back to me, you can Borrow my Landy sail. Luckily I have it at home.

I think Nick Moore is entering, he's sailing with a GP main now so perhaps he might have a spare. However, if he does it's probably an 'R' model! I'll pm you with his e address an mob

John Alani has 2 Stealth's! But due to his silence I'm not sure if he's entering.

Get your wife's sewing machine out and get her to show you how to zig-zag stitch. Buy her a big box of chocolates and some flowers and ask her to help you sew up the seam. Normal strong cotton will do for a temporary repair but your chandlers might have some sail cotton.

I can send some double sided sail makers tape up. If you clean the surfaces, that will hold it for ever. It's the stuff that holds your spinny together. Give me a call 07711 269622.

No it looks like I go around the top via Silverstone / Birmingham as its the quickest route.

I'll probably go up the A1 tonight as well. I'll be leaving late however, probably around 9 and get to Rutland by 11:30 or so. If it's not a crazy detour I could stop to grab a mainsail.

But then I should probably use it and loan my "R" to John, after all, I should take all the advantages I can get!

Pepin, If you have John's number it maybe worth a ring as he has not replied to Dave's offer of getting D/tape to him, maybe he has sorted it.

Really? My mapping software tells me that the fastest to there is M25/M1/A421/A1/A606...

A421 means you'll be travelling a fair bit north of me before crossing to the A1.

Only just seen this thread. I'll have my old Blade Ullman sail in the trailer with me. If it fits, you're welcome to use it - never tried putting it on a Stealth mast, though.

I've always found it very quick when sailing 1-up smile
