Depends on what state the second hand Taipan is.

In the UK I'd say oldish F16 are going for £3000 at a minimum (good luck finding one at that price however) up to £9000 for a recent boat in excellent condition. Extras like trailers/trolley/covers/extra sails make the price go up fairly quickly.

Anything that floats with a working set of sails under £4500 is probably going to be sold in a day... The marketplace is fairly hungry for used F16 in that price range: I know 4 people looking for one right now...

COnsidering your location I guess you're fishing to see if it would be a good idea to ship your Taipan to sell it here? I'd say that unless you have a really competitive way of shipping it in, I don't think it's going to be worth it. The shipping cost and the VAT are going to make a big dent...

Yes at our club the growth of F16's has now become a problem, we cannot find enough used boats to fill demand which is a shame really. Unfortuantely most people cannot afford the price of a new boat.

yeah, plan was to ask around about manufacturer's shipments going towards europe at some point, and try and get in on it..
the boat was bought relatively cheaply in australia, so were i to sell it for 5k in england then i'd be making enough to cover shipping (i hope)

One thing for certain is you won't get 5K in UK pounds for a rareity at Datchet, if you had a Stealth or a Blade you might as there is almost a One design aspect to Datchet plus there are FX1's about in the 3K bracket.

By all means send it over but don't expect to make money on it. Just a personal view. cool
