Welp,

I'm planning on coming. Stupid work just dumped a huge load on me yesterday that may require that I miss Sunday at the least.

Have I mentioned that I hate my job?

It sucks.

It's great to see you have such a positive outlook again. Good for you!

Criteria for a job

Does it buy your toys?
Does it get you away from the wife for at least 8hrs?
Can you still read Catsailor from your desk?

If you answered yes to all 3 of these, then your job does not suck, it is wonderful!
There are alot of people out there right now that wish they had a sucky job...

So is that someone from the IRS, that's got your toy money coming in your place? If not then somehow there has to be a way for LLSC to write it of as a loss.

I feel your pain.... and db programming (especially solo) can be VERY DRY work. I dabbled as a Coldfusion web programmer in a previous career.

when you hear of people looking for / out of work for over a year... it makes me thankful that i am employed (until the next time someone at work pisses me off)

During the implosion of the dot com era... i was unemployed/self employed (same thing) for almost 3 full years... it was very rough.

Especially since i was so close to cashing in 17,000 stock options in the dotcom i was a plank owner in (original team member).

I even slept in my car a few nights while i was "living" with friends for a few months at the worst of it... puts alot into perspective

Go to nursing school: GI bleeds, fecal impactions, screaming women trying to give birth.

Jeeze, this is really depressing. I thought we were going to have a nice weekend on the water enjoying our passion.

Now we will probably have to endure "job" stories over a Rum Drink.

Andrew, since you are posting on the Reggae thread, I presume you are violating your "no travel/no race" consitution, and are loading up for the 8 hour trip.

Mine is 4 hours and I'm outta here now!

I tell you what, I wish I was out on the lake right now instead of here at my *censored* computer.

Personal weather station has the wind at 8mph, gusting to 12. Which means at the lake its 10-15.

Forecast for tomorrow is more of the same. Could it be that Reggae will have ... *gasp* wind?! smile
