Russell has been a pain in the butt. But I'm preserving and I will have a finished boat in the near future.

Catchy color Tony, I like it! Good that someone dares to be different.

Tramp setup looks like the Hobie Tiger?

Actually the modern acrylic based paints are now very good in regards to UV fade, should not be a problem at all.

Only disadvantage is that you will be very easy to spot when starting early! wink
Still, better to keep it under a cover when not sailing.
This is what they do with most of the black Hobie F18s.

Thanks every one for your remarks. Iam just itching to get on a start line.

Next step is to rig the mast and step that. I have all the parts. Just need the time. doh

I had to think about that for a second. It made me laugh.

Sadly the name has nothing to do with employment.

Good guess though.

I think "yumay" have a wee small design falt with the setup in the photo. The dolphin striker needs to be attached to the downward adjusting bolt rather than just pushing on the head of the bolt.

In most normal forces it operates correctly as you have it, resisting the beam loads, until you put your foot on the stiker bar and lever yourself up on the boat after a capsize. Your leverage forces the bar away from the bolt and pops it off leaving you to limp back home to fix it ( from experiance ). You can solve it easily by either wiring the bolt head in place or drilling ( and tapping )another smaller dia bolt up through the striker into the adjuster.

Tony,

how did you make the mast foot assembly? Did you buy it, or did you have it machined?`Tricky thing to do in carbon fiber I think.

The adjuster goes through the striker. I have an adjustable compression thingy in the beam. To be safe I could drill and pin the end that comes through.

The mast Iam using is off an A, but is Taipan dimensions. I have ordered most mast fittings from AHPC. Perfect fit.

I have been practicing my splicing through work. I was looking for a nice way to tension the tramp. This will work well once everything is tight.

Iam a Crowe fan for sure. Especially since he bought the South Sydney Rabbits (Rugby League)A poor investment by the way.

Another good coincidence.

Is there anything supporting the tramp sideways, or is it all tensions fore/aft?
