Hi,

A few months ago, I got a brand new Nacra SL-16 (similar to the Nacra 500).

I am a semi-experienced Hobie 16 sailor. (I owned one for several years.)

I am having a really tough time figuring out the Nacra.

In particular, the rigging is super-tricky compared to the Hobie. And the boat seems to be *extremely* tempermental. When something is slightly off in the rigging, the boat is impossible to steer.

I'm looking for an experienced Nacra sailor who can help me get up to speed.

Ideally, it would be someone who is experienced giving lessons, and I would pay for a few lessons.

Alternatively, if there's someone who just wants to go out sailing a couple of times to help me figure things out, that would work as well.

I launch in Marina Del Rey.

If anyone has any specific suggestions about where I could find Nacra sailors/instructors, I'd totally appreciate it.

Thanks!

--Mike

I spoke with one of the kids who sailed one of those at the Youth Nationals. He said when going to weather (pointing high) you really have to get the nose down with having your weight forward to keep the boat moving good since it has no daggerboards. That's all I have.

Keyboard sailors are always faster in all conditions.
