Every year I forget how to rig my spi on my Tiger.

It is an end pole snuffer and there are three patches on the sail. I can never remember (and can't find instructions at Hobie's site) where the rings go on the dousing rope and the routing for the rope that comes down to the deck (halyard)
Can anyone help me?

Cheers
Alan F

Thanks hobie18rich,

That diagram is for a mid pole snuffer. Mine is an end pole snuffer.

Cheers

Try Dan Delave ,
He posts on here often and runs a end pole on his tiger.

Well lets see now...

If you are using an endpole snuffer you don't really need three dousing points. You may be able to use the middle one and the top one if you're snuffer bag is long enough.

I had a pulldown patch put on my first spinnaker between the bottom and middle holes to accommodate the endpole snuffer.

Consider how the spinnaker comes into the snuffer…even though you pull it from the top the bottom retrieval point will be your limiting factor.

If you want to use a three patch system you can put a line on the bottom one with a ring attached to it. The line length will be the difference between where your tack is attached plus the distance to the bottom hole compared to the l length of your sock.

The retrieval line will come out of the bowl then up through the ring at the end of the line, then to the middle patch, and finish at the top patch.

I like to put knots separating the dousing points in order to avoid the material all trying to come into the bag at the same time.

When you tie your knots make sure that after the spinnaker is completely in the sock you have the head right at the opening. This will make it much easier for your next set.

Hope this helps,
Dan DeLave
