Has anyone used the Rick White Power Righting system for solo righting a H16? If so, how much do you weigh? The photos and instructions depict two persons and I don't really see where it is being marketed as a solo righting system per se.

Since I got no replies I thought I would answer my own mail so to speak. The short answer is no, this is not a solo righting system. A friend of mine got the power righting system with his F18 and wanted to sell it. Before spending the money I wanted to see if a 200 lb person (me) could solo right the boat. We installed it on the Hobie 16, pushed the boat into the water and flipped it. Try as I might I couldn't right the boat. Asked and answered.

I had asked the same question about 3 or 4 weeks ago without much response.

I'm glad to hear someone has tried it solo. Now I know it wouldn't work for me either.

The righting pole is a lever, if it didn't work for your weight because you havn't got centreboards to stand on you need to have a pole thats long enough for you to hang off and creep to the end. As a lever its guaranteed to work you just need to find the right length, with my Stingray the pole stuck out 2ft behind the tramp and I could right it solo.
