I have noticed video shot from a powerboat/jetski comes out MUCH more stable than if shot while standing (static on a beach or other).... very odd but true

If standing static.. a tripod makes all the difference

Great video. That is an interesting righting technique at 3:46 - one person hauling on the righting line, the other in the water climbing on to the tramp as she comes up to vertical. Looks like it worked for them and get's someone on to the tramp very quickly to stabilize steering etc. This is one I think we'll experiment with in windier conditions when righting the boat with one person is pretty easy.

I saw this video on the same site about a week ago. Pretty funny and the sailors afterward poke fun at their situation.

Every so often the video gets distorted so I wonder if they've steadied the video with software.

According to the website of the company that shot the video it was indeed software stabilized.
Excellent video though, I'm still waiting for HD waterproof cameras to get more affordable.
