I am planning this trip and I know some of ya'll have done this before. I will leave Charleston SC and head NE. Myrtle beach will be the first landable civilization to restock. depending on the wind this could take 1 to 5 days. Does anyone have suggestions on the menu? I will carry a fairly large cooler for food and I frozen gallon jugs of water for cooling and drinking.

EPIRB.

Make sure you pack some high-protein foods. They will give you longer higher energy reserves than a carbo-enriched menu would. If you can keep it cold, the lunch meat makes a body good. Peanut butter always works, and doesn't have to remain cold.

When I back pack one thing we carry is ramen noodles. I use that as a starter and add summer sausage, cheese, freeze dried veggies, some curry. Rice works also. Some of the freeze dried meals availible are good. Spaghetti is good to bring. If you want to bring meat, get a small cooler and put some dry ice in and the meat will stay frozen. That will keep ice cream frozen also. Not a bad treat miles from nowhere. Plus you'll be the envy of any one that might run into. Another thing thats good is to order a pizza hut pan pizza, Wrap each piece up and when it's time to eat just warm it in a pan over low heat or over some coals on alum. foil. It will taste like you just ordered it. Noodles with butter and parm. cheese and sun-dried tomatos........Is it dinner time yet?

One other thing, bring a trash bag.

Mike
