This new forum, which I wholeheartedly advocate, suffers from an ailment that also plagued the old forum. Threads that start out as excellent exchanges of sailing ideas and insights sometimes morph into the pissing-contest-of-the-week. I offer for example the recent thread on I17 tuning, which lasted for about a week as an EXCELLENT discussion, but has now turned into the typical wouter-vs-america exchange of meaningless drivel.

<br> I'm not writing to ask Rick to create some further level of forum policing. I'm writing to ask all forum posters if there's a way to pre-sort the genuine information from the BS. Because I'm as lazy as the next guy, I recognize that editing the subject line is often too much to ask, but this forum is equipped with the "post icon" function that has at least a dozen options, and I wonder if perhaps one of these could become the unofficially-designated "pure BS" icon. the "wink" maybe?
