Always important to recognize good customer service. Had a Clear Start watch that took a dump after only a few regattas - contacted my dealer and they set me up with a return authorization. Looks like some moisture made it past the seal somehow. Ronstan sent me back a new watch lickety-split in order to get me all set for F18s next week. Thank you, Ronstan!

I had a very similar experience with a Ronstan watch about 3 years ago. No BS, no hassle and I got the replacement watch in record time. Their customer service is spot on. Great company to do business with. Just to be fair and give equal time for equal treatment. I had a similar experience with Harken on a damaged Main block that I got on a used boat. I found Harken customer service to be outstanding also.

Ditto that with a harken block. it wouldn't engage the ratcho-matic, so they gave me some suggestions for cleaning (soak in hot water)... didn't help so they had me send it in and they replaced it ... no questions.

Tried one of the new 55mm Orbit auto-ratchet blocks with cleat & becket for my lower main sheet unit. Becket failed after 30 seconds of moderate loading. I returned with unit to my retailer (West Marine) for refund. Then contacted Ronstan to see if they planned any improvements. They said the early batch had lower ratings on the becket...I told them my use case (9:1 Tornado mainsheet lower block) and they sent me a new unit for no charge and asked me to test it for them...saying they thought it might be too much for it.

Well this one lasted a few hours...got about 15 mins into the double-trapping conditions before it blew up at the beck again.

So, reported this to Ronstan, asked them if I could keep the remains to make up a set of carbon side plates. They said sure and even sent me full schematics for the block to help with my project.

I'm nearly done and will test it out again soon.

I got a total of 6 clear starts under warranty!!!! all of them leaked! but ronstan were very good, they didnt ask for a receipt, just sent them back the faulty one and gave me a brand new one.

getting really sick of this, I took the last one to a watch repair guy, he used Seiko silicone grease to seal it. (you can buy it on eBay) Its been perfect ever since.
