What's the scoop on this one? Beachcat friendly?

David,
To be eligible for the trophy, each club brings a 3 boat team where the skipper must me a member of the club. I did this one with Ken summer before last at host club OSYC. Good fun race and hosted at FWYC. Good practice for the NA Championships.

David,

Yes, this is a Beach Cat friendly regatta. To get the GYA overall trophies, you have to represent a GYA club...

However for the Nacras that are planning on coming down for the NAs, we are also doing a NA Warmup - same time as the GYA Multhihulls...AND, if you do come down for the Warmup/GYA Regatta, you are more than welcome to leave your boat here until the NAs.

We have 40 cat-slips on the grass complete with tie-downs and water and power...

Hope to see EVERYONE here!

Sam,

The NA warmup, will that be two days of bouy racing or will it be a different format?

Do beach cats compete for the GYA trophy? If so, are you racing against the big boats? Is it a distance race or bouy format?

Dave

This multihull contest features racing for catamarans and tris on the same drop - mark course. NACRA 20s, Formula 18s, Formula 16s, Tornadoes, and the CFR 20 will be scored for prizes using the Portsmouth yardstick and scored, off - record, under PHRF with the trimarans.

I'm planning on being there on an F-18. Hopefully a few more boats will come as well. Role call?

Biggest thing we (FWYC) was hoping for was to get as many cats down here as possible.

We will work out the scoring as needed to figure the overall GYA awards.

Typically, the Cats will be scored Portsmouth, while the Tris will race PHRF. Everyone on the 'same' course, different starts, using the US Sailing Multihull courses...

If we get enough Nacra 20s, F18s & F17s (that are ...not... competeing for the GYA overalls) we will have a seperate start for them...

There aren't a whole lot of f18's in that area. There is one at panama city that I would think that would show up. Most of the nacra guys are on the 20's.
