CSC will be running races Sunday off Vista Point, Jordan Lake, the 5th. Nice beach launching. Some boats might head out on the 4th, and the parks have given permission for sticks up overnight.

Is the Sunday Race open to all cats or just the Isotopes? If it is open I will definately show up for the weekend. If not, I'd crew for someone if they needed it, but I'd prefer sailing my boat.

I think Joleen meant the 4th, which is that Sunday...the 5th is a Monday

Yes, Sunday is the 4th. I don't think Joleen and I have plans for that weekend yet (probably the only such weekend this year). The Isotopes as a class have elected to restrict their "Championship Series" racing to April-October on Kerr Lake. If any Isotopes sail at Jordan lake, or in March or November, they'd register as Open Class, not Isotope. This affects throwout and trophy-count calculations as well as scores. Other boats are, of course, welcome to enter the Open Class as well.

Sounds like its open, come on out and we'll have an 'open' multihull class smile

The racing is open to all Dinghys - mono or multi. Anyone can wail as a guest of the club one weekend. Eric, slight correction on the CSC Scoring - the board denied Jordan being Open Multi for the 'Topes. I say bring it on - we sail - open - phoey on how it gets scored!

But to answer the question - absolutely - all CATS are welcome.

Yeah, Ryan, I've woken up from the work world, making some time to promote CAT sailing in the Region.

ya'll have fun.. I'll be in Beaufort for a family reunion weekend.... but I'll be taking my 16 there... that is if I can fix my my wheel bearings by then... On the way back from Cat Fest I noticed that I had blown out the bearing seal and it was slinging grease everywhere.... I bought a grease gun in Winston Salem and stopped to add grease every 20-30 minutes.. I took it off this weekend.. very wobbly. I totally shreaded the inside bearing.. nothing but metal shards. It's a wonder I got home on just the outside bearing. One weird thing is that my spindle is bent up but there is not any unusual wear on it... not sure if the heat could bend it like that or if it had been like that.

Mark,
The beach chair incident, then the bearing? Sounds like a fun trip.

I'm bringing my rig back home this weekend so next weekend should work for me. I will most likely set up Sat and leave it overnight. I will see about getting some other boats out as well.

I like what you've done with the EMSA link in your sig... Hope you don't mind me copying you on that... We need to promote the site every way we can.

This weekend is a go for me. I may need crew or I might just sail the thing solo. After the front comes thru this weekend and clear weather next week there might be some wind.

Are there any other non-isotopes coming out? I think the FX 1 from Burlington will be there. Will try and get Kyle and/or Hallie on their 18 to come out as well.

Any of the NC State guys?

I'm going to be there. I'm going to race on the 16. I'm going to stray from my usual solo routine and let my little sis crew with me. I'm going to try and get Thomas to come as well. He may actually bring the 18 as well. I may even be able to get my cousin to show up with his motor boat to help out if needed. Just let me know if ya'll need a powerboat or not.
