I hope this thirth GC will not be the 3rd Gc with a lot of wind, this would be bad luck so keep fingers crossed.

Here's the local Tampa weather as well. Scroll down a little to see the 7 day outlook.

Wind prediction for Florida:
Windmapper Florida
Looks like 15-20 for next week, which should be fun considering that wave action will be minimized by the bay structure!

Wrong club. I think GGYC is in San Francisco, California. We, Gulport Yacht Club, are in Gulfport, Florida.

http://www.bcbaywatch.com/ This link is to Boca Ceiga Bay, where the event will be sailed.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&...0.013947&t=h&z=17&iwloc=addr There you go Pete, you forgot the url tags.

Its been blowing pretty good here. Check www.sailflow.com navigate to Tampa Bay top left then to Boca Ciega on the right. They are calling for high teens today and over the weekend. Sailflow isnt very accurate and its usually blowing a bit more out on the water. By looking out my window the trees are moving pretty good, meaning there MUST be a good amount of breeze down at the bay.

Just got back from the Yacht Club, the place was deserted. You can clearly hear the halyards from the boats, which means its surely blowing more than 15kts.

Well I watched the evening Tampa news tonight and they are saying by Weds. the storm might be in the gulf, might produce 40 knot winds, maybe, if, but, etc, etc.

If it does get nasty and we need to evacuate, I say we just move the whole party two hours drive inland to my house in Sebring and race on Lake Jackson. ;^) Or maybe over to Cocoa Beach at Kelly Park, we can all stay at Matt's!

No webcam that I'm aware of. Surely, someone can post updates. I'll ask Robi. I think he will be around.
