Is It true that Boyer is selling the moulds for the mozzie?
I read this on a thread in the f16 forum.

Yep, selling everything almost. Hanging on to the Taipan moulds. I've let a boatbuilding friend know as soon as I got the email, not sure if hes interested or not, I kind of hope he is.

Regards

Be aware though that the Mosquito mould Jim would be selling would be his mould he used in the 90's, not the one that's been used for the last 20 or so boats. That one (the one shaped by Russell Denholm) doesn't belong to Jim.

Tim is right, the Mossie Mould Jim would be selling is the Boyer shape of the 90's. The mould we have been using is the Russell Shaped mould. This mould we own and we are talking to a boat builder and expect an idea on price and delivery times soon.
On a lighter note: The spare set of hulls built in the last run has been sold, this takes the count to 5 new mossies on the water this season.

Peter,

Bloody good to hear that the mould is owned by the Mozzie Association. I was shocked to hear that Boyer was shutting up shop and held some concern about the prospect of obtaining future hulls. I heard the news in the boat yard at Somers Y.C. on Tuesday afternoon from Jeremy Pearse who had been across at Frankston on Sunday to watch the F18 national titles. Bad news travels fast !

I trust that the Mozzie web site will be updated with all the latest details when they become available.

Regards,

Peter
