We all have different issues during the racing season. I was just wondering if anyone has things, in the off season, to be done (sailing-wise) while they are not racing? I know that with the holidays there is little time...maybe no thought to sailing.

Some are:
planning next years schedule
fixing hulls and boards
looking at or budgeting for new sails
redesigning the layout of the boat
looking for a new class or boat to sail in next year
figuring out what it would take to get new crew or keep present one happy
setting up alliances to share a trailer to the next North Americans
reading and studying rules so you do not get caught unaware
just sailing more even though no one else is around (we may get the Worlds here soon)

Just thinking,
Dan

I guess, the aim to sail much, much more than this year is on top of the list ...

sail more and try to get a few more regattas this year.
West Coast champs, ditch run, maybe one or two down south or up north.

More seriously: My to do list has 27 (!) points, from replacing worn lines over controlling mast- and frontbeam prebends to checking PSDs, especially signals.
But the major point is keeping the crew on-board. Finding new one is no problem, I sailed with nine different persons this year - which proved to be nonesense. It takes so long until the crew is really up to what you expect them to, in the next year I will concentrate on training with just two of them. And the best of those two favours yacht-sailing, too, - he saves money for a boat and I fear to loose him sooner or later ...

Off-season! We dont have a off-season, us hard nut (brainless) brits train through the winter! Dodge a few ice berges here and there and its a laugh.

I have the boat for sale. But in the mean time, I'll likely be going over a couple of 16mm blocks, one bit of line that bothered me, and clean out the trailer boxes. Doesn't look like I'll be sailing until the New Year.

After watching Lionel Messi play, I realize I need to sail harder.

Already selling the boat? Is that boat like brand new? Growing the fleet or are you switching gears into the new C2?

Better than brand new - the boat is tuned perfectly and a real winner (I bought an ad!). I'd like to get into the new C2 - the pictures from the Paris Boat Show look great. Need to sell a house first.

His profile is private so that is not really an option.

Moving one of our H-17's to Sail Sand Point in Seattle. Will be set up, ready to go so Grandson can take his friends sailing, and help build up youth sailing.
