A friend of mine is trying to put together a new regatta in south FL during the month of March. Besides the two regatta's below does anyone know of any other potential conflicts?

Pensacola Midwinters March 20 & 21 (dates unconfirmed)
Hobie Midwinters East March 27 & 28 (dates unconfirmed)

What we are looking at is the beginning of March. And when the rubber hits the road tough guy, it's just you, Alex, Terry, me and the girls representing the sunshine state at Spring Fever.

Just to give you a heads up... March, April and May are pretty much booked solid.

Hobie MidWinters East is 99% sure to be March 19-20, Singing River Yacht Club, Pascagoula, MS.

Potentially large numbers in these classes:
Hobie 20s
Hobie 18s (NACs are just 20 miles away 10 weeks after)
Hobie 17s (ditto)
Hobie 16s

We'll probably get a few Waves and 14s due to the proximity of their NACs, too.

I just wondered how far south. And is it on the Gulf or Atlantic side. If it is on the Gulf side, we could maybe get enough Waves there for a fleet.

Probably the Atlantic side, it's still in the early stages but will move very quickly once the commitment has been made.

The everglades is full of it. Tough sailing there though.

I actually drove along the Eastern shore of Lake Okeechobee today on the way to the Steeplechase and it looks like it would be a great place to sail. Nice wind, miles of flat water, and no viable place to launch or stay. laugh
