Who was Team Wave? I didn't have anyone registered using that name. I saw it on the tracking, but didn't know what boat it was.

Mary, that is Skip Kaub and Jack Whoehrle. They were sailing an ARC (or Supercat) 22. You do not have them listed in the final standings. It looks like they did not even get to the bridge on Sunday morning.

Their mast step ball broke oceanside of the Channel 5 bridge. Here is part of Skip's e-mail to me last night:

"I am sorry I could not be there at the awards. I really wanted to be there but my boat was broken on a vacant area of Anne's Beach and found ourselves with the boat in one place and the trailer and tools at Gilberts. Jack had to get out of town and we had difficulty safely dismantling the boat due to the damage. All is well now."

In case you saw this and was wondering as I was; we sailed by these guys both days of the race as they rowed south.

These guys are nuts, but pretty cool mission!

They would have gone faster with their bimini top up.

They were coming in Jewfish Creek when we were tacking out to get to the start. They were both rowing then. I wondered what it was all about. You see all kinds of strange craft heading south in the Keys this time of year.

I quickly forgot about it 'til I saw this post.

saw them on day two as we were about to enter the mangroves too! the name on the back of the boat was 'not for sail'. Both times we passed them, I was glad we 'were for sail'! Thanks Mary and Rick for organizing, Chip and Barb for hosting, and Steve for throwing another great party!

+1 Thanks to everyone!

Just finished writing our summary on our blog and added a couple short videos. I hope to edit the rest of our video and get the rest up soon!

Great sailing and great company as always! Can't wait for Tradewinds!

I think Rick's results showed that a little different...

What a great weekend for sailing! With the exception of a pitchpole resulting in 5 -6 nice bruises, the sailing was fantastic!

Has anyone seen pictures from the bridges posted anywhere yet?

Happy Holidays and all the best to everyone,

Beth. I don't think a lady has ever posted her account of Steeplechase. How was it? Did Karl survive? smile

I've posted the pictures Kathy took on my Facebook page (that's it, I'm offically gay). I've also uploaded the pictures to Snapfish and gave Rick the URL. I can't get to the account from at work so if you're interested I can send you the URL tonight when I get home.

Todd... we were definitely a minute or 2 ahead of you just before entering the mudflats. For everyone else out there, he even admitted we had beaten him!
We weren't sure where the finish line was so we went a little further than necessary and sailed right up to the beach to sail past the orange marker on the beach. I'm not sure how it's possible that you finished 35 seconds ahead of me.. but oh well!
I gave you my bottle of Andre and you still call me a punk?!
