I have a Lowrence Fish Finder LMS 520C that I would like to put on my Tiger.
I suspect that putting the transducer

behind the transom wouldn't work due to the fact that the rudder would probably hit it, (I am guessing as the boat is too difficult to get at for now) so I am wondering if anyone else has tried mounting one and where.
My first thought was to mount it on a wooden thingy that I made that would attach to the dolphin striker and extend a wooden rod down to the water with the transducer on the end.

The only other way I could think of would be to attach it to the side of a hull. This would make it unavailable if a hull was out of the water, so I would have to be careful not to raise a hull in shallow areas.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

I am not sure about your model, but I would think that the most suitable fitting is "through hull". You do have to make sure that there is a solid laminate with no bubbles in it. Probably just in front of the dagger-board. You will have the problem of lifting a hull where ever it is fitted on a cat.
