Barb, thanks for the excellent beachside reporting! What are the wind conditions for today?

The boats are leaving the beach. A handful of boats registered this morning including a couple of Hobie 16s with youth sailors who were in school yesterday.

There's also a couple of adjustments to yesterday's scores as a result of protests and requests for redress.

N20 sail #1005, Mike Hill/Holly Hoffman, received a DSQ in race 1 due to a collision. The protest committee ruled that they broke rule #10.

N20 sail #1018, Craig Wilusz/Deborah Deats, and F18 sail #622, Laura Zahradnik/Luke McAllum, received redress and will receive the average of their scores for all 4 races yesterday. The suffered equipment failures prior to starting which prevented them from sailing.

F18 sail #1028, Nigel Pitt/Alex Shafer, received redress and will be given their average score in race 1. The redress was given as a remedy for a race committee error.

Rick says 15 kts and "delightful." Molasses reef says more like 20 kts. Based on the gusts here on the beach they are going to have to be alert out there or it's going to be splat.

Ah, let the fun begin! Just heard on the radio there was a dismasting on the non-spin course. The boat was in the start line and RC decided to postpone until they can get the boat clear of the area.

I'm looking at half a dozen boats who have returned to the beach with some sort of equipment failure. Oh, make that 7.

rhodysail, Tradewinds is following Spring Fever's format this year as a 3-day event for the first time. For those who could not make the races on Friday (due to school, work, whatever) they are receiving the average of their 2-day finishes as their finishes for Friday so they are not punished for missing that day. F18s, Waves, H16s, and portsmouth boats are on their final race for today. The F16s and N20s have one less race than the F18s. OK, I either lied or I'm just a tease, you decide. It was really hectic there at the end of the racing and I think a big old glass of beer from the keg after posting results got between me and the internet.

I'm actually not where the laptop is with the results on it as I needed to get out of Dodge to make another engagement this evening at our sailing club. I've got to hit the shower and get to the clubhouse.

Soooooooo, you'll have to stay on the edge of your seats until the morning. When I get back down there I'll put them up first thing. First start at 10am and I'll be there by 9am.
