New F18 design has hit the water... more on sailing anarchy forum..

Not the prettiest of boats but Brett is apparently confident the new boat will show well at the Australian Nationals.. Team Windrush will be campaigning both Ts and F18 in Europe this coming season..

T's are currently voting to go SMOD. IIRC its just sails at this stage but the talk is that to have a shot at getting back in the 5 ring circus it will have to apply to boats as well, which will rule Brett's boat out. It is actually a good reason for Windrush to get into Europe ASAP and show they can deliver a competitive platform at a much cheaper price.

well... SMOD is a silly idea in my opinion.. "Monkey" has a lot to answer for..

My only comment is Brett produces a seriously good quality product.. As good as any out there..

The interstate travellers have arrived in Geelong this morning.

So let all the tyre kickers push thru' to the front please.

SMOD = Single Manufacturer One Design, think Hobie Tiger instead of F18.

It doesn't effect the new boat, just the Tornado and the effect on Windrush is obvious. If you have to buy a Marstrom to sail a legal T (existing boats would be granfathered I assume). Then it will be very hard to sell a Windrush T no matter how fast it is.
