I'm converting to and old style mast(no comp tip) from a new comp tip version. My newer mast had a sail guide for raising the sail. The old style mast has a opening that is narrower then the new style and the sail guide wont fit in the track. I was thinking of grinding the edges down which will widen the opening allowing the guide to be mounted. Does anyone know of any problems with that idea. If not it the last piece I have to switch over. Thanks Craig

I hear the new boats are coming without feeders again. Sail lofts are saying to take the feeders off because they tear up the bold rope over time. I am tempted to try taking mine off to see how it goes. I would round the leading edges, and not taper them because tapering might cause the bolt rope to jam in it more.

cheers
Bill

I noticed on the Hobie Getaway that the opening for the sail in only on the starboard side. The track feeds the sail very nice this way. Wonder why they do not do this on all the Hobie boats?
