OK, I'm willing to negotiate, but will she deal cards?

Woohoo! So far we have 6 out of 9 that are coming from the West River Sailing Club, Galesville, MD!

Not sure how serious he was, but Karl B suggested I fly down and crew. We'd be team "Laurel and Hardy."

Serious enough to invite you, but tell you to find your own place to stay. grin
Offer still stands if you're interested. I don't think I'm willing to split up the clinic though. I need to work on the singlehand stuff as much as possible.

Well Stanley, I blocked off the days on my calendar at work, but I have not broached the subject with my wife. I am sure this will be greeted with "its starting again already?"

If a shrimp boil is promised at GYC, I'll fend off the daggers and come for that alone.

Does anyone know, perhaps, what time the cutoff for racing will be, so that people travelling can figure out if a flight out of TPA (say, to LAX?) at 1700 hrs is possible?

I'm sure that info will be in the NOR, but the time for reasonable flights is... yesterday.

The plan is for three races each day. What time do you need the cutoff to be? I'll try to get it written in.

Immaterial - I just booked it. There were only three seats left at the early booking fare. See you there! smile

bump. We're just over a month away. What tuning, speed tips do you folks have?

My dagger board trunks suck, literally. They make a definite sucking sound, especially under spinnaker. Is this why Tback always beats me, or is it because I'm fat (this is your chance to talk a little pre-race trash)?

These boats have a whole bunch of lines supporting the spin pole. Is that significan windage? Should I invest in ultra slick, hi tech unobtainium lines?

Whaddaya think Ding? You know you want in this!

How do you fix trunk suck? Better felt/carpet in the bottom of the trunk? Build up the bottom with glass/expoxy using the dagger as part of the mold? Both?

Is this with the boards lifted to avoid tripping under the chute? If so, the above is not a solution. So how would you solve it then? Flaps in the botton of the trunk?

The question is semi-serious. I'm assuming the sound comes from air flowing downward through the bottom of the slot. The situation occurred by too vigorous sanding of the boards. A littel gel coat on the boards should fix it.

A little gel-coat will help. If they are loose at the top, you can buy some 1" wide velcro strips with sticky back at WalMart in the fabric/sewing area, cut to length and install the fuzzy strip in the top of the dagger slots, this will help keep the boards up when you raise them and slow the air sucking down there as well.
