Posts: 1,884 Detroit, MI | You can't control the weather, so I don't factor that in.
I got two good days of sailing in. Saturday was a little chilly, but 4 races in 15+ on the 17 was awesome. I haven't had that much fun since the NAs in San Francisco four years ago.
The hospitality was first-rate and the food both nights was great. I'll be back next year.
Drive down wasn't bad, but home was hard. Road construction, Spring Break traffic and weather made it harder than it should have been. | | | Re: Hobie Midwinters East, SRYC, MS

Posts: 99 Commerce, MI | Matt...Sorry if I seemed a bit cranky. I'm stuck in Kentucky on business . Yes...I wholeheartedly agree that the 17 is too much fun in fat boy wind . Did any Tigers/Wildcats show up? I'm thinking no which translates into me being happy I didn't make the commitment to go down. BUT...seventeen F18's are registered for Spring Fever. This weekend will be spent getting the trailer together, boat loaded and RV de-winterized . Leaving home next Wed. I guess we gota pick our poison. Posts: 3,906 Clermont, FL, USA | seventeen F18's are registered for Spring Fever. Later, JB And 68 boats preregistered for a regatta that has received some pretty harsh criticism. Some of it justified most of it not. Clearly they are getting something right!

Posts: 99 Commerce, MI | Dave... 75 boats on the list as of this morning. Some will drop off, others will be added. The attraction is a three day event. Makes the drive worth it. I need to PM/email you. Check your inbox. JB | | | Re: Hobie Midwinters East, SRYC, MS

Posts: 3,906 Clermont, FL, USA | They have the RC on the list too, so I subtracted them out.

Posts: 490 | Results, photos, and video should be available soon at http://www.singingriveryc.com/.On Friday, when I arrived, the crews from up north were rigging their boats, the quality sound system was broadcasting Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley traffic, and the RC was preparing for two practice races - Done....then Cajun dinner and bar talk time in honor of Tom and Susan's 19th anniversary. Saturday morning - late arrivals, a postponement onshore and then four races in 12 - 20. Saturday night - inside dining, video dislay, and photo slideshow. Much merriment was to be had despite the incoming weather. Sunday morning - when I stepped out of the van the decision to race became an announcement for the awards presentation at 1000 hrs. More news to follow - at least Matt's tent was still on yacht club property Sunday morning. b | | | Re: Hobie Midwinters East, SRYC, MS
