Hi folks,
Looking to buy a seven year old Wave. Wondering if their are any concerns I should be aware of? Their are some shallow gouges on side of hull, black scuff marks probably from rollers, and normal fading. Biggest question I see, there is what appears to be a sleeve over the rear crossbar that is supposed to be in the hull, but is sliding out a little. I see a couple of inches sticking out??
Any advise is appreciated.
Thanks

Not sure about the problem you are point out about the beam. I know my son's Wave was out of square, so he put some stoppers on the beam after measuring front and back to be sure they were the same across.

Thanks Rick,
I'll try and post a picture. That will be much better than I can describe.

A sleave sticking out a few inches? That would be an odd one. You have sheared off its hardware designed to mold it as part of the hull. Is that a problem? Maybe. Maybe not if its the rear and you can slide / pound it back in place and it doesn't leak.

Rick,

I measured my Wave and found there was about a 3/4" difference in the measurement between the bows and sterns, the Bow measurement was less. What kind of "stoppers" did your son use and how did he fasten them on?

I made some "shims" that fit between the stopper on the forward cross member and the hulls, and tried some double sided tap to hold them in. It didn't matter if I fastened them to the hull or the stopper, they always shifted, so I removed them.

So I'd like to hear how you did it.

Charlie

I really don't know. And he never is on this forum. Next time I look at his boat, I will let you know.
