I am not sure many of you guys get the magazine- Practical Sailor- but in this month's issue they are talking about multihulls. They list a getaway as a "performance multihull."
hmmm.../
Obviously it is a marketable boat and more of them have probably been sold in the last year than any other type of cat.... but....
what would fit the bill of a non performance multihull?

My Tiki? But even it will make 11-12 knots, carry 1,000 lbs. and make reasonable open water passages.

Well,
Any modern multihull will run away from from almost every comparable mono out there. Doesn't that qualify?

Race cheap, race faster, Damnit!

If you have only sailed monohulls at 6-7kts, any multihull is a "perforamance" multihull!

Now, the question is, what does that make an Inter 20?

Unfortunately that is the opinion of many monhull only sailors.

Maybe the author saw only Hobie rotomolded cats and compared the Getaway with the Wave.
