If you are re-decking your tri I'd use ply. 3 coats epoxy each side making sure you remove any amine blush between coats and a layer of glass on the outside to prevent the grain from opening up and letting water in. I expect the deck would then outlast the both of us.

It's a thought. Problem is that the deck comes in three pieces for trailering and they're a pita to store.

Pete,
You might look into foam core instead of plywood. Corecell foam comes in various thicknesses and will bend in a radius similiar to plywood, and can be worked easily. Cover with glass or carbon or whatever and you have marine friendly part.

Lighter than wood, wont ever rot.

yeah, the taping laminates were a pain on such a small boat. not the laminating itself but the fairing. would consider laminating L's to slide between the skins instead next time.

The flat pack parts were surprisingly flexible.
