<br>I haven't seen final results, but to the best of my memory, Jim Boyer was slaughtering the rest of us in our Portsmouth grouping. He had several firsts on Saturday and I distinctly remember seeing his bright orange and black jib up front on Sunday. The only other Taipan I remember was sailed by a couple that had just purchased it, it was their first time on the boat and they were getting used to it. We had great wind Saturday and Sunday.

Was he slaughtering you too on handicap rating c.q. corrected times. You may not know this ofcourse when you don't have the results but most racers do time their competitors in order to know when tehy themself must be comming in.

Wouter, Carol and I had the pleasure of hosting Jim and Lisa last night and they had their class trophy with them. The results were incorrect initially but Jim got them straightened out and they got their first place finish in their class. I think that CRAM did not score that class in the overall Catfight results, so we will not know how they compared to the twenty footers. Jim was disappointed that they were not allowed to race with the bigger boats since they felt (and have demonstrated in the past) that they would have kept up with them boat for boat. <br><br>

<br>Send my congrats to Jim for his trophy and it is indeed a pitty that they didn't get into the high PN group. Maybe the USA PN for the Taipan is lowish ? To bad they didn't got ranked with the 20 footers for I could have used the data. Thanks for the reply Mike I'm sure you had a good time with your version of " smaller is better" !! in those strong winds.
