I started a diet not too long ago in the hopes that I would be able to squeeze into my gear from 1995 when I weighed 179 lb. I'm not to 179 yet but I am down enough in weight to get back on my NACRA 5.8 and take my ten year old daughter sailing. She's been tooling around in a pram now for a couple of years and I have been dying to get her out of a 4 knot boat and get her on a 10-20 knot boat. That time has come. I am picking up my new boat next week and will head down to Long Beach, California to get back on the water and tool around Alamitos Bay, the LB harbor and eventually to Catalina Island later this summer.

I'd like to hook up with some other boats that have kids in the ten year old range this summer. Please drop me a note and let me know when and where you might be sailing in July/August.

It's nice to be back....

I don't need to lose weight, but I did quit smoking so that I could sail with the kids.

My 13 year old daughter crewed for me at the Jetty Park Ocean Regatta two weeks ago. She has been practicing as crew for the past year. It was my first race since 1986.

Its great to see other Dad's sharing the sport that we all love so well.

If you ever get to Punta Gorda, FL, look me up.

Mark,
Great lakes up her near Fresno. I've got a 12 yo and 9 yo who sail with me. If you want a great sailing/camping trip. Head to Huntington Lake and let me know when you're going.

Hi Mark,

You're starting to look pretty svelte!

We're (Me, Vicki and our 8-1/2 year old daughter Hillary) heading to San Diego on August 10th for a week, taking the boat and planning on sailing Mission Bay inbetween Sea World, the Zoo, etc. From where you live, you could meet us there on a day trip pretty easily.

I'll let you know if I'm going to take her out locally before then.

Sheldon
