That's the 'problem' for both Hobie and Nacra, they both already offer a similar 2 up and 1 up platform.
To now spend time, money, etc. to develop and sell something (F16) that fits -both- would only hurt their sales of the other 2, I don't see them doing that to themselves.
But if you are not selling very many of these and there is a bigger emerging market, then doesn't it make economic sense to bin the non sellors and create a new product which people maybe interested in.
To sit on the fence and wait until a major competitor has established themselves as the market leader is commercial suicide. Hobie or Nacra would probably be better at this stage to buy the production rights of the Falcon, instant boat in the market at the right time coupled with the brand name = winner
