A fleet of almost 40 beach cats headed out for what could be the last Slip to Ship regatta in a while Memorial Day weekend. Passing clouds at the start made for an interesting light air journey out to Ship Island where cold beverages and chicken was enjoyed by all. No signs of the oil spill out there yet! Just about the time the last boat was spotted the storm clouds started kicking in and a pretty nasty thunderstorm provided heavy winds, rain, and lightning as the fleet aproached the shore. Awsome dinner/dessert/raffle by the OSYC gang Sat night. Robbie served up jambalaya and beans wearing a headlight strapped to his head as the power was out for a while! Sunday's weather started out lumpy again, and the start was postponed til some coulds passed. A fun reach-reach around Deer Island was pulled off though. Results are a the link below, pics to follow soon I'm sure -
