Maybe the Euro vs. Dollar exchange rate changed Jack's mind.

Got to take a peek at some parts arrayed on the floor.

The boards are sexy. Downright Sexy. Half as light as my N20 boards. The Rudders as well.

The board bag has the message: "Caution: Remove before flight" on it which was a nice touch. Mast is amazing quality it looks like. Light as hell. Sails were carbon kevlar and comes in three separate sizes for accomodating crew weight.

The boat is definitely on my wish list.

There was a hull and board at the Racine event. What was there was very cool. I wouldn't say no to taking it for a spin.

I'm boatless.

Karl, did you lift the hull? It weighed nothing. I lifted it with one hand.

It was tied down when I got to it. Hulls on their own are surprisingly light anyway. I think the whole boat is quite light anyhow. Mid-300's??

Something like that. 11 ft beams, tilt trailor. Definitely not your casual sailor's beachcat. I took a 5 min video of Macca talking about it which I will edit and post somewhere.

According to the Texel Rating the F20 Carbon weights 165KGs (363lbs).
There was a long awaited race a few weeks ago where the F20Carbon raced against some M20-GTIs.
The M20s got beat pretty bad, despite the crew skills being quite equal.

Agreed, 363 ain't light, but it is for a 20 ft boat with an 11 ft beam!

I need to learn to sail the F16 first!

I wasn't all that interested at first, but then I walked over and picked up the hull with one hand and that got my attention. Some day that technology will trickle down so a duffer like me can afford it. May extend my sailing life.

Well, I guess I can come out and say it. I've started negotiations with the war department to inquire as to possibilities of perhaps finding one of these in my boat lot.

Initial approach didn't work, but alternate avenues of negotiation might prove fruitful.

St. Louis, MO,
I helped load it in the trailer in Racine. It was impressively light. After loading a few F18 hulls it felt like close to half the weight. I'm sure it wasn't half. If I had to guess if the f18 hulls weigh in at about 100 I'd say it's like 60. Just a WAG.

I'm happy to see Performance still pushing the envelope. I'm not sure what Performance had in mind when they built it. I'd guess as an all out production distance racer at 20 feet.
