Evening all,
Given the level of interest shown in the class with second hand boats selling quickly, last Sunday we held a training day at ASC. Phil Flaherty, Phil Pearce,Peter and Simon Hallsworth,Ben Clark, Graeme Davies, Darryn Kopp,Peter Dunk and Jamie Broekers were on hand to offer rigging/setup/sail tuning tips and advice to John Zafran "Zapper"1736,Rob Gilchrist "Hagar"1704 and Tony on "To be Sure"1728 and David Heynemann with "Epi Magic" 1695 Two of the boats were weighed using the digital scales.Zapper,Hagar and To be Sure joined the ASC winter fleet for a couple of races at 1pm. Also joining them on the water were Darryn 1782 and Peter and Jaimee with an assymetric spinnaker on 1707. Phil Faherty and myself kept an eye on things from a Rib. All survived the rain squall with no capsizes and hopefully some rigging/tuning tips for next time,
Cheers
Roy

As one of the newbies on Hagar 1714, it was a great day and introduction to the class. Great to have some of the "older hands" around to offer rigging and sailing tips out on the water. As I said to Roy, its a good sign when a class offers this sort of help to new folk.
So thanks!
Rob G.

Yep great day ( bit cold, I think I will be a fair weather sailor ). Thats me on to be sure, my mate Paul is the one taking it easy!!! Nah , that's the first time we have been out on a mozzie and as you can see we had a laugh. Paul's just purchased a mozzie off me that has been resprayed but will require a main sail. Anyone know how much a secondhand sail costs? Nothing spectacular as we are beginners.

All,

Must admit that I am not sure what is in our shed in regard to sails, "Wannabe", but drop eitheer Peter or me a line and we will see if we can help.

Ohh, we are hoping that there will be more joining the 3 kite rigged boats in SA this season too.
