I don't think people in the US dislike it is just something that people associate with young children as school yard games. Football in our life has been the NFL.
I like F1 racing compared to NASCAR

Ok, it is now Brazil - Netherland. Another classic. Could be the match of matches. But we have also Spain - Portugal and Germany - Argentina. But Germany is still the underdog under those teams. Party goes on...
I have no idea who wins, Brazil or Netherlands and I hope Germany wins again against Argentina....

that's pretty funny....While I have gained a good bit more appreciation for "Soccer", I still prefer my American Football (that's played with hands)! At least in that, the offside rule is easy to understand by mere mortals.

The way teams are playing, Brazil X Netherlands should have been the final.
The underdogs are Ghana, Uruguay (that barely made it to the worlds) and Paraguay (best player shot in the head).

... and beat them with a HUGE score (6-1 or something).
Sounds like the English strategy. Indeed I hope that the Netherlands win. We can always beat them, but our most feared opposites are Brazil and Italy. So please continue with the clean up. And of course NED-GER is much more entertaining. How should we explain that our American friends? Did you remember the ad from Oddset ?
Cheers,

Hahaha Smiths, your clip makes me think of the classic Faulty Towers "Don't mention the war!" Another John Cleese classic. A final between Ned and Ger is always most fun. Of course, Ger will probably win that due to blind umpires, sort of a FIFA tradition...

Well after endless hours of boredom watching your lame Footboll I figured out what it needs to be "popular" on this side of the pond.
Change the rules. Full Check Soccer!
If these soccer faggots are going to flop around every time someone comes near them, as if they got punched in the mouth, then by God, somebody needs to punch them in the MOUTH!
Thx Tim, this is the closets "we" have been to winning the cup in a long time! Our next opponent is Uruguay and that also promisses to be an exciting game.

Well, at 16:00h CET, Germany - Argentina, yet another classic. So far Argentina has won more often, but if we want to play against the Netherlands we have to beat them (and Spain). The last match against Argentina 2006 was already charged, so I would not wonder to see red cards today.
And sorry for Ghana, that was a stolen victory. A red card is just not enough for so much unfairness...

Hey all you Euro guys, the Tour deFrance is on today, day 1, Holland headding to Brussles. In yesterday's Prologue Lance, the 38yr. old geezer in the group of over 200 younger studs, came in 4th! Wow.
Any bets on how Team Radio Shack will do in this tour?

Lance Armstrong must be one of the most inspiring athletes today! Overcoming cancer and fighting back the way he did, and does... Amazing man, goes to show what a person can do if he or she really wants to.

If you have not read his book, "It's not about the bike" you should. It goes into great detail about the cancer years and his comeback from that to win the Tour. I wish he'd write another book that would detail all the other tours he's won since then, and all the politics, drug tests, team infighting, etc.
One thing was clear to me after reading that book, you do NOT want to piss him off!
