Dear All,

I have owned a Hobie Wave for 2 years and you all have helped me a lot with questions I've had. But I have now sold it and bought a Hobie Dragoon. As they are very different from each other there are lots of noobie questions I'd like to ask. Can you tell me where in these forums would be the best place to ask questions.

Regards, Tim

I don't know anything about a Dragoon, and doubt many of the Wave sailors would either.
Perhaps the best place is the Open Forum

Hi Rick,

The Dragoon is a European "invention". Here is the description from the Hobie Centre in the UK:

The Dragoon Extreme is a performance 13 foot single-hander with room for crew. The Extreme comes complete with a 9.5m2 asymmetric spinnaker and retrieval chute as well as a furling and self-tacking jib. The Extreme is also kitted out with excellent quality running gear including Harken main, jib and spinnaker blocks. Weighing only 104 kilos it is an ideal single-hander which can be quickly and easily rigged, launched and righted by one person. The power to weight ratio of this small cat makes it one of the most exciting boats in the Hobie range.

<<The Dragoon Extreme is also used for training teams of youth squad sailors to race 3 sail catamarans. Thanks to the Hobie Cat and RYA funded Dragoon Squad some of the former Dragoon Squad sailors and now training to sail larger cats ready for the next Olympics. If you are interested in getting involved in the dragoon squad visit the British Hobie Cat Class Association website>>

I've contacted the British Hobie Cat Class Association but they don't have a forum for the Dragoon. At the moment the main questions are to do with the trapeze, spinnaker and hiking out. I'll put the questions in the Open Forum. Thank you for the suggestion.

Regards, Tim
