Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Yeah, that must have sucked! I don't know how any of them survived that! I guess towards the end of the day yesterday it had stopped raining and the roads were drying up, but still...30mph with wind and rain slicked roads coverd with white paint...scary stuff! And today it was the cobbles, but at least it was dry cobbles. Lots of crashes in the final 3km though!

Posts: 571 Hamburg | In some countries in Europe it is very popular, but not because of the crashes.
Back to soccer. Did someone of you realize, that all the players showed in the Nike ad, which I posted a week or so ago, lost their matches. Funny like an augury.
Germany beat Argentina. I saw only the first half, was amused but not sure. My friend convinced me better to go sailing so I missed the second part. We agreed to sound a horn for each goal... When I heared the horn, I thought how funny, but how much did Argentina. The third time I thought the guy on the horn is drunken. After the end of the game he sounds again four times. I did believe only drunkenness. Back on shore I got the confirmation 4:0. Get it right, those German players are mostly second class player struggling in their clubs. Now they are beating Rooney and Messi. I think Messi is traded for 40 billions... Germany started as underdog and are now favorite. I hope they can handle this new role. 4 is the number of this cup: 4 goals against Australia, England and Argentina, hopefully 4 against Spain and the Netherlands so we will win the cup four times.

Posts: 9,582 North-West Europe | Thanks mate,
Mind you the last few games have been exiting to watch. Lots of drama and even a proper goal total. Definately something else then a 0-0 draw with overtime and a penalty shootout.
Indeed, lets hope the final will be of the same kind and may the best win.

Posts: 2,584 +31NL | Watch out, Paul the octopus has already spoken. Calamari, yum... Less then an hour to go till the start of the final match: Holland vs Spain! From what I heard Germany vs Uruguay yesterday (losers final) was one of the best of the tournament, but I am sure this match will be even better. | | | Re: Why do Americans hate football?

Nope, still 20 minutes in overtime and I can rightfully say the game yesterday was much more entertaining.
