Posts: 90 Québec, Canada | I have a problem with this Nacra 5.2 of mine, I am trying to set it up for the first time and I found out that the Shroud and Forstay do not fit.
Can anyone give me the length of the Nacra 5.2 Forestay and shrouds.
I measured the shrouds at 240 1/2" (6109mm), the bridle wires at 47" (1194mm) and the forestay at 222 1/2" (5652mm)
This dosen't fit and I was forced to install an additionnal shroud ajuster between the Forstay and the Bridle wire connection. It seems that my mast is raked too far back but without knowing the lenght of the wires in the standing rigging, it might be a false impression.
I am just about to purchase longer shroud ajusters all arounf because the shrouds are hight quality hydraulic swaged and I want to keep them. If I get new ones, I would be forced to replace them with regular swaged wires with nicopress sleeves.

Posts: 90 Québec, Canada | Hi there
While I am still looking for the length of the shrouds and forestay, I should be able to get by with the mast rake. Since my mast is up with a forestay extension, if anyone could give me a value for the mast rake, I am certain that I could work with it
Thank you in advance

I ran mine almost straight up. I would say somewhere between 2" to 18" of rearward rake (measured using the trap wire) depending on wind & water conditions.

Posts: 90 Québec, Canada | Here is an update for my Nacra 5.2 riging I have done some more research on the shrouds and forestay mystery on my Nacra 5.2 and I was able to dig up the old set (very damaged, not usable)
The lenght are: The old set: Shrouds = 245" forestay = 219.5" The installed set Shrouds = 240.5" forestay = 222.5"
I am pretty sure that the installed wires are from a Nacra 5.0 and that the old set is for the Nacra 5.2
Right now, I have remove the forestay extension and installed shrouds extensions and the mast is OK but my mast rake is at 18" (With the forestay extension, the mast rake was at 32")
I will try to reduce the mast rake by replacing the front Forestay ajuster or by connecting the forestay directly to the bridle wires.
I still have an old set of shrouds from my Nacra 5.7 so I will probably cut then to make a new set for my 5.2 i am still waiting for a second opinion about the length for the shrouds.
I might also recut an old shroud from the 5.2 to make a new shorter forestay.
I am really thinking about running my boat Unirigged most of the time so I want to have the mast very straight. I might also install a chute later on. (I already have the chute and almost all the hardware).
