She left Jensen Beach, FL Tueday morning, and pulled into Dayton, MT at 2 am Friday. By 11 am we were scrubbing the hulls, and by 4 she got wet. 85 degrees, sunny, 6 to 8 knots, maybe gusts to 10. Just enough to pop the windward hull out, both upwind and down. So controlled, so effortless! Sailed til we ran out of daylight, giggling regularly. She's all we hoped for, and lotsa season left. South Flathead now sports four hi perf cats. Let's hope it's a trend!

Glacier Park is one of my favorite spots in the whole world. I haven't been there in a long time, too long. If you announced a regatta on Flathead Lake it would be very, very tempting.

Who needs a regatta Pete? Just show up and we'll sail, I've got 2.5 cats on the lake. Were you towing a boat, check out Canyon Ferry, east of Helena. Big reservior popular with sailors and iceboaters.

Pete, I've boardsailed on several of the eastern lakes in the Park in years past, and I think boats without motors are ok on Lake McDonald. Beware of advocating camping to anyone who thinks they're beyond it, or you'll hear about it when conditions deteriorate. Come on out Karl, always lookin' for crew! Hell, you can drive!

Yeah, it's a Smyth hooter/screecher that I use a lot. The boat is a custom 24 footer(14' beam) built by Malcom Davy in northern CA for himself, to try out a bunch of construction techniques(he's a boat restorer), cylinder molded hulls, assymetrical daggerbds, 37'wood/epoxy wing mast. She weighs about 700 lbs, great in lite air with the screecher, handles the big chop that develops on a lake this size when it blows. Had her doin' 15 kts in the moonlight last weekend!
