I know a lot of you are using the GoPro HD, but has anyone looked at the ATC9K with a remote to control it.

The GPS module looks like a cool add on.

Just spent a weekend using the gopro hd on my C2, mounted it on the spin pole where you would put your taktik, speedpuck, etc, worked amazingly well. The crew can turn it off an on easily enough (just climb out the hull), battery will last a full day if used as such.

Also played with the end of the boom to mixed results. next, and extension of the back of the boom, then the top of the mast.

The video quality of all the past OregonScientific cameras was very poor and according to this sample footage this one isnt much better:

Compare this to the GoPro-HD:

wow, I had one of the older OS cameras and wasn't that satisfied with the video quality. The GoPro is definitely the better of the two.

case closed

on a budget the pentax w60 is pretty good

and seems the only 1 with a delay start timer for video and ability for interval shooting, ie can be stuck up the mast, wherever and set to take a photo every minute for several hours, beloved of the kite photographers

640x320 resolution at 30frames per sec pretty good for online video

not as wide-angle as the gopro

I'm working on live video from the boat for next year's Tybee. It wont be perfect - but it'll be awesome for the launches.

And the quality will be better than this years'

Here is some onboard footage from Gilligan's Run. Team Stray Cats with Mr. & Ms. Bonifant taken with the GoPro HD:

I wanted to do some audio but do not have the time and my skill level is still minimal.
